ESX Framework V2

ESX Framework V2 runs on the ESX Legacy base — the actively maintained fork that replaced the original es_extended codebase and is now the de facto standard for production ESX servers. Unlike QBCore, ESX Legacy's architecture puts the economy and job system at the centre from day one, which makes it the better starting point for communities that want a structured, employer-driven economy rather than a free-form criminal-first progression. V2 layers OX Inventory on top of that base, giving you the slot-based item system that's become the community standard for ESX builds.

What Sets This Build Apart

Most premade ESX packages lean heavily on the same four jobs and two robbery types. V2 goes wider on the lifestyle and entertainment side: karting circuits, bowling, plasma arcade games, and a hookah lounge give players something to do outside the job-and-crime loop that keeps populated servers populated during off-peak hours.

Framework Compatibility

ESX Legacy is maintained by the original ESX team and is the version that receives active security updates and CFX compatibility patches. Scripts built for ESX Legacy — which covers the majority of ESX resources released since 2022 — attach without modification. OX Inventory does replace the default item system entirely, so resources that hook into esx_inventory directly will need the ox_inventory migration, but that's a one-time job and the compatibility bridge is well-documented by the Overextended team.

Right Fit

ESX V2 is the choice for server owners whose playerbase is already ESX-familiar — staff who know the job system, players who know the MDT workflow. Switching to QBCore mid-community is a bigger operational shift than it looks; V2 lets you launch on the framework your existing team understands while still running a modern, OX-powered inventory and a full entertainment stack.

Installation

1. Copy the supplied resources into your server's resources directory.
2. Import the database files so characters, jobs and inventories have somewhere to persist before anyone connects.
3. Add the ensure lines to server.cfg in order — es_extended first, then ox_inventory, then the rest of the build.
4. Fill in your database credentials and framework options in the config files.
5. Boot the server and read the console through to a clean start, then join, create a character and check the inventory and economy are talking to each other.
